It has been a busy few weeks for the County Councils' Network (CCN), publishing two substantial reports – one on county economies and one detailing our policy proposals for government.

A core element of our calls for a ‘new deal' is the need for fairer county funding. We welcome the Government's re-commitment to the needs-based review but it must be based on genuine need and be delivered in a short timeframe.
