Many councils have gone to court to try to block or dismiss perceived unsavoury Whitehall initiatives in recent months.

Just last week, Kent CC, Brighton & Hove City Council, Surrey CC and the London boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Harrow and Hillingdon received High Court verdicts on asylum-seeking children and the Ultra Low Emissions Zone.
