CQC case leaves sector on alert

An ‘unusual’ legal case could have implications for local government.

An ‘unusual' legal case that may end with a showdown between the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and auditors Grant Thornton could have implications for local government.

Former CQC deputy chief executive Jill Finney is seeking at least £1.3m libel damages from her ex-employers after a report by Grant Thornton said it was ‘more likely than not' that she had ordered the deletion of an internal report.
