Cracks are showing in devo deals

With the East Anglia devolution deal already cracking under pressure, Heather Jameson says the Government's unworkable approach lies at the root of ongoing devolution problems

The ink had barely dried on the East Anglia devolution deal when it started to crumble.

Before it was even signed, the mammoth 22-council combined authority had lost Cambridge – the economic jewel in its crown – and just days later Cambridgeshire CC's full council was calling it ‘unacceptable in its current form'.
