Foo Fighters frontman and Nirvana alumni Dave Grohl this week took on local government, appealing for Cornwall Council to rethink noise restrictions on a local band's practice venue.

In a heartfelt letter, he wrote: ‘For the sake of your local band Black Leaves of Envy and for the generations of young musicians they may eventually inspire, I ask that you reconsider the restrictions put upon the volume of their private rehearsal space.'
