When a crisis happens, most people want to do something to help. We all feel a genuine desire to help our fellow humans. It's a feeling that we can't just carry on living our normal lives completely unchanged when people are suffering from natural or man-made disasters – wherever that is in the world.

This is a great human instinct. It is not about government or the private sector or profit or anything else. It is about our basic humanity.
