Croydon confirms new interim chief executive

Croydon Council has appointed Nathan Elvery as interim chief executive, interim head of paid service and interim returning officer.

Elvery will take over from outgoing chief executive Jon Rouse for an initial period of up to 12 months. He joined the council in 2004 as director of finance and resources, and became deputy chief executive in 2008.

Hannah Miller, who is executive director of adult services health and housing, will retain the deputy chief executive role.
