Curating a good council and government system

Ed Hammond says Oflog has the potential to make Government's actions and interventions more predictable and evidence-based.

News continues to trickle out to the sector on the developing role of the Office for Local Government (Oflog) – the new body tasked with drawing together data and insights on the performance and capability of individual councils and, presumably, the sector as a whole.

Oflog's chair, Lord Amyas Morse, gave a glimpse of the body's role at the Local Government Association conference earlier this year. Coinciding with this, Government published a summary document setting out the body's key roles.
