The chairman of the National Association of Local Councils (NALC) has warned plans by Shropshire Council to cut funding for town and parish councils could damage local relationships.

Members of Shropshire Council are due to meet today (26 February) to vote on the local authority's budget for 2015/16, which was approved by the cabinet last week and includes removing all council tax support grants for its town and parish councils. The budget contains a series of measures aimed at meeting an ongoing £80m funding gap.
