The Action for Children charity has called for more long-term commissioning and planning to help vulnerable children and families.

On 15 October, the third sector organisation published its annual review The Red Book, which looks at the impact of spending cuts on children's services, and warns that the cutbacks are creating a ‘ticking time bomb' for vulnerable children.
