Cuts to councils mean cuts to the NHS

If the Treasury pushes through more big cuts in local government then adult care will take the hit and there will be a knock-on effect in the NHS acute sector, writes Michael Burton.

I don't envy Treasury mandarins ploughing their way through the sums as they prepare for the July Emergency Budget.

The good news is that last week's ONS stats showed that public sector net borrowing fell by £10.8bn in the year to March and now represents 4.8% of GDP.
