Cuts force IT firms to rethink council deals

Society for IT Management have reported sector IT firms have lost their appetite for wholesale outsourcing.

Sector IT firms have lost their appetite for wholesale outsourcing – preferring to take over lower-risk council functions on a piecemeal basis – experts from the Society for IT Management (SOCITM) have reported.

Publishing the latest annual survey of local authority IT trends, the association found the private sector was showing less commercial interest as town hall budgets and workforces continue to shrink.
