National survey reveals details of poorly-commissioned council homecare having a negative impact on the dignity of elderly people.

Poorly-commissioned and under-funded council homecare is having a negative impact on the dignity of elderly and disabled people, a national survey has revealed.

Findings released on 5 July by the UK Homecare Association (UKHCA) – whose members provide care services to 640,000 people on behalf of local authorities – shows that more than one-third (34%) of providers have raised concerns over risks to the safety or dignity of care.
