Dame Denise Platt gets a chance to learn First Hand about borough's care facilities

Five of Islington LBC's care services received a visit from social services expert Dame Denise Platt last week.

Dame Denise examined first hand what kind of services disabled children, adults, young people and carers in Islington were getting. The chair of the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) visited council-run centres, a voluntary organisation and a charity, meeting a number of service users including Paolo Falzone (pictured). Last year, CSCI awarded Islington's social services two stars and noted the council had made ‘significant progress'.
