Damning care commission report

Unison’s head of health, Christine McAnea, has said that poor leadership, lack of resources and managers putting costs before patient care have all contributed to the highly critical report by the Care Quality Commission on the standards of care services for the elderly.

‘More regular inspection of management must be a priority. We know that some care staff are working in a culture of fear and intimidation,' she added.
