Darlington chief executive to leave after 13 years

Darlington Council’s boss of 13 years, Ada Burns, will step down after the authority decided to merge the role of chief executive and director of resources.

Darlington Council's boss of 13 years, Ada Burns, will step down after the authority decided to merge the role of chief executive and director of resources, combining them to create a new managing director position.

Ms Burns will step down in May and the council's director of neighbourhood services and resources, Paul Wildsmith, will become managing director in June.
