Former Local Government Association chair Shaun Davies will stand against Vauxhall MP Florence Eshalomi to chair of the Commons Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee.

MPs will vote tomorrow on whether former Telford & Wrekin Council leader Davies or former Lambeth councillor Eshalomi should take over from the committee's long-serving chair Clive Betts.
