DCLG announces Kerslake replacement

The Department for Communities and Local Government has appointed Melanie Dawes as its new permanent secretary, replacing Sir Bob Kerslake, who will retire at the end of next month.

The Department for Communities and Local Government has appointed Melanie Dawes as it new permanent secretary, replacing Sir Bob Kerslake who will retire at the end of February. 

Ms Dawes is currently head of the economic and domestic secretariat at the Cabinet Office, a post she held since October 2011. Prior to that, she worked at HMRC and in the Treasury.
