DCLG rates rethink leaves LEPs in limbo

The Government could row back from plans to give business members on local enterprise partnerships (LEPs) the final say over any rates increase to fund infrastructure.

The Government could row back from plans to give business members on local enterprise partnerships (LEPs) the final say over any rates increase to fund infrastructure.

Under existing proposals, directly-elected mayors would need a majority vote of the business members of the LEP if they wanted to add a premium to pay for new infrastructure.
