MPs have blasted the ‘insulting' Government approach to the disposal of public land for housing, warning of ‘short-sighted' mismanagement and ‘alarming complacency'.
A stinging report from the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) today found the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) was unable to demonstrate the success of the policy as it was failing to collect data on the actual number of houses built or under construction, sale proceeds or whether land was being sold at market value.
