DCLG warns of clampdown on parish tax bill

The representative body for parish and town councils in England and Wales has defended members for increasing precepting charges.

The representative body for around 10,000 local councils in England and Wales has defended parishes for increasing average precepting charges by double the rate of inflation – amid further ministerial threats to extend local referendums.
