Who's making the decisions?

With the transition of Individual Electoral Registration closing in December, Tracey Lee discusses the no frills approach Plymouth City Council took to increase voter registration

In 2014 the way people register to vote changed. The Individual Electoral Registration system was introduced and this meant that everyone within a household needed to be registered to vote.

Nationally it was being predicted that around 10.5 million people would need to re-register, and another six million, who were not registered, should be. Students and non-responders were identified as key target groups.
