The festive spirit came crashing down to earth in Colchester High Street this week when the town's Christmas lights fell down.

No -one was hurt in the accident, but the High Street was closed for emergency services to ensure the area was safe. Colchester BC workers have now taken down the lights, just five days before they were due to be switched on.
