Deep unease in NHS about child protection changes

The NHS Confederation warns vulnerable children are at risk from nationally imposed changes to managing safeguarding.

Vulnerable children are at risk from nationally imposed changes to managing safeguarding, amid confusion and fears of fragmented responsibility, the NHS Confederation has warned today.

According to the body - which represents all organisations that commission and provide NHS services – the government has not clearly explained either how future arrangements for commissioning child health would operate on a local level or how public sector agencies would be encouraged to co-operate.
