Delivering a shared vision

Director of development at Camden LBC Neil Vokes  looks at how an innovative approach to development is helping to shape a rapidly evolving area of London close to King’s Cross.

After more than three years in the making, we recently launched the procurement process to find a development partner for a mixed-use redevelopment opportunity on two council-owned sites in Camley Street in Camden. 

The opportunity is a little over ten minutes' walk from the busy King's Cross/St Pancras rail stations, but also close to Regent's Canal and Camley Street Natural Park which supports a wide range of woodland, grassland and wetland habitats.  It is at the heart of the Knowledge Quarter, a hub of innovation and knowledge-intensive industries.  It's a diverse area which has demonstrated its ability to adapt to new challenges over time.
