'Don't demonise CFOs for issuing S114 reports'

Chief financial officers (CFO) should not be ‘demonised' if their only option is to issue a Section 114 report, the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) has pleaded.

With an increasing number of finance officers concerned about the ability to fund services in the coming year, a new report by CIPFA urged CFOs to ‘act if it becomes necessary'.
