An influential committee of MPs today publishes a damning assessment of the Government's approach to tackling regional deprivation.

In a scathing critique of the coalition's early attempts to tackle the ‘complex problems faced by Britain's most deprived' areas, the communities and local government select committee warns ministers risk creating a deprivation time-bomb, if they fail to find additional resources for effective regeneration programmes soon.
