Student numbers, deprivation, density and pollution should all be recognised by the Government when it draws up new spending formulas, the Core Cities have argued.

In its response to a consultation, the organisation, which represents the UK's 10 biggest cities, said it was worried that the Government had so far not proposed including density in its new funding formula.
