Deputy PM admits error over stadium

Deputy Prime Minister ~John Prescott~ has become embroiled in a long-running feud between two councils over a football stadium. Mr Prescott admitted last week making a mistake over planning permission for the Falmer stadium, which has been the subject of a bitter dispute between Lewes DC and Brighton and Hove City Council.

The Deputy Prime Minister gave permission to the Brighton and Hove-backed 22,000 seater stadium – the proposed new home of the city's football team – last year after two planning inquiries, but Lewes DC then launched a High Court appeal challenging his decision.
