Derby chief executive set to stay for three more years

Derby City Council’s chief executive Adam Wilkinson poised for three year contract extension.

Derby City Council's chief executive looks set to have his contract extended by three years at a council meeting next week.

Adam Wilkinson's five-year contract is due to expire in July 2014, but the council will meet on 22 May to vote on extending it for three years.

In a statement, council leader, Cllr Paul Bayliss, said: ‘Under the leadership of the chief executive, the council team, led by Adam, has strengthened its position as one of the leading local authorities in the country.

‘We have won many awards that demonstrate that as a matter of fact.

‘He has demonstrated the vision, commitment and drive needed to deliver for the city and has developed a strong working relationship with key city leaders.

‘I have every confidence that he, along with his team, will continue to champion the creation of jobs in the city and deliver our vision for the residents of Derby.'
