Developing our future CFOs is crucial

The job of chief finance officer is one of the most challenging and highly scrutinised roles in local government so getting our next cohort ready is a must, says Tracy Bingham.

A few weeks back, I attended the Society of District Council Treasurers (SDCT) general meeting.

It was a fantastic couple of days spent with district chief finance officers (CFOs) and other sector colleagues discussing current issues around financial sustainability, audit and accounts, and the role and development of the CFO.
