With the deputy prime minister's recent announcement on a number of new mayoralties being established next year, the Government is well on its way to extending devolution to at least 85% of England's population.

All of the English core cities sit as part of existing mayoral combined authorities and we stand ready to support others in the sector to make the most of the opportunities of devolution as they embark upon the journey.
