Devolve all property taxes to the Mayor of London, says new report

All property taxes should be devolved to the Mayor of London to pilot reforms in a bid to protect the capital’s economy post-Brexit, according to a report by think tank the Centre for London.

All property taxes should be devolved to the Mayor of London to pilot reforms in a bid to protect the capital's economy post-Brexit, according to a report by think tank the Centre for London.

Report authors Nicolas Bosetti and Richard Brown say in the report: ‘At the very least, council tax should be reformed to bring values up to date and allow more variation between tax rates for the cheapest and most expensive property. A more radical approach is land value tax.'
