Departmental business plans – setting out the Coalition's priorities over the next year – show continued commitment to ‘devolving' further powers from Whitehall, ministers have claimed.
First launched in November 2010 to boost Whitehall's openness and accountability, the departmental plans have since been streamlined to focus on key structural reforms. Minister for government policy, Oliver Letwin, said the Government had taken ‘radical steps' over the last 12 months to transform public services, tailoring them around the needs of the user.
