Council leaders have railed against a government decision to cut the total Discretionary Housing Payments (DHP) budget by £40m in 2015/16.

Council leaders have railed against a government decision to cut the total Discretionary Housing Payments (DHP) budget by £40m in 2015/16.

The Department for Work and Pensions announced on 30 January that the amount councils in England would get for the DHP scheme in the next financial year will be reduced from its current total of £165m to £125m.
