Senior managers with responsibility for running England's 46 fire and rescue authorities have been invited to take part in a telephone conference tomorrow with Sir Ken Knight  - to discuss the far-reaching implications of his recent efficiency review.

Sir Ken's independent report ‘Facing the future' found fire authorities could save or reinvest £200m annually if rescue service spending was reduced to a national average.
