The former leader of Cambridgeshire CC has warned the authority's effectiveness would be diminished by the switch from a cabinet system of governance in favour of a committee system.

Writing in his online blog, Nick Clarke, who lost his seat in this month's local government elections, said the decision 'signalled a big shift in attitude from getting things done for the people of Cambridgeshire to focusing in on councillors and how they wield power'.
