We need a clear direction of travel to mend our crises

Heather Jameson says that while the immediate emergency has passed, there are plenty of potential priorities and little time to tackle them. 'But one thing is for sure: the PM can’t simply fiddle while Rome burns.'

Reading through the pages of The MJ this week, it is clear we are at a crossroads. A ‘post-Autumn Statement, pre-Prime Ministerial direction of travel' moment in which to take stock.

With public finances back on track following the disastrous mini-Budget, the immediate emergency has passed. But there is no long-term plan.
