Director of Children's Services - Luton BC

Director of Children's Services - Luton BC

Up to £127k p.a.

Here in Luton, we're working hard to make sure all of our children are safe and happy. We've built a high-performing team and benefit from best practice and quality supervision; shifted our focus towards early intervention; introduced new technology; and built successful links with our diverse and thriving community.

Our efforts have created an innovative and highly motivated children's service that enjoys a very strong reputation locally and nationally, but we know we can go even further.

With your leadership, drive and passion, we can make sure every child gets a flying start in life and a positive future. It means enhancing the excellent leadership of our high performing team, co-ordinating your efforts with those across the Council and partners beyond to further encourage collaboration and a holistic approach to supporting children and young people to achieve the very best outcomes.

You'll also continue our programme of innovation, and transformation in the service and corporately and work effectively as part of our corporate team to look for improvements that can be passed on to our community.

In Luton, there are certainly career challenges to stretch you. But there's a great platform from which to build and you'll have every opportunity to shape thousands of lives – as well as your future career. With rich children's services experience gained in either a Child Protection or Education background, and strong leadership qualities, it would also be helpful if you have experience of traded services.
