Director of the Olympic Host Boroughs Unit to retire

Former chief executive of Manchester City Council and subsequently Birmingham City Council is retiring.

Roger Taylor, former chief executive of Manchester City Council and subsequently Birmingham City Council is retiring.

Since 2007 he has worked as director of the Olympic Host Boroughs Unit comprising the East London boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Royal Greenwich, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest. In his latest role he has been responsible for successfully co-ordinating and leading the boroughs' joint work on developing a coherent socio/economic Olympic legacy for the deprived communities of the area.
