Districts call for economic development devolution

Almost half (47%) of all borough councils want to see responsibility for economic development devolved down to district level, a survey by the District Councils’ Network (DCN) has revealed.

The majority of district councils (78%) said a lack of infrastructure funding was holding back their growth plans.
