Districts would expect us to defend 80:20 split

Unity is the only game in town if councils in shire areas wish to support strong economic growth for businesses, boost housebuilding and deliver world class public services for our residents, writes DCN chairman Cllr Neil Clarke.

Unity is the only game in town if councils in shire areas wish to support strong economic growth for businesses, boost housebuilding and deliver world class public services for our residents.

For this reason, it is most important that we build on the collaborative success of the District Councils' Network (DCN) and County Councils' Network (CCN) joint devolution summit held earlier this month in London.
