Doctors have called on the Government to bring forward the extra cash for the Better Care Fund (BCF) to ease pressure on social care services.

An open letter signed by 14 medical leaders, including the president of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, Clare Marx, said the additional £700m promised by the Government for the BCF from 2017/18 should begin this year instead.
