According to the Chinese calendar, 2006 is the Year of the Dog. And legend has it, that people born in a dog year are good leaders. So, the signs are looking good for ~Local Government Employers~ (LGE), a new leadership group being launched on 3 April.

Readers of The MJ have, through a series of recent articles, been made aware that local government employers are definitely in need of good leadership. In response, LGE has been created by the LGA to work with councils and other bodies to drive forward national, regional and local solutions on pay, pensions and employment issues. We are responsible for influencing the expenditure of more than £32bn a year on salaries alone.
