Doncaster children's services face outsourcing review

Education secretary Michael Gove sends experts to Doncaster MBC to determine whether the authority’s children’s services department should be outsourced.

Education secretary Michael Gove has despatched two experts to Doncaster MBC to determine whether the authority's children's services department should be outsourced.

Professor Julian Le Grand, currently advising the Cabinet Office on staff mutuals and Alan Wood, Hackney LBC's director of children's services, will produce recommendations on the future of Doncaster's children's services for Mr Gove by the end of May.
