Doncaster Mayor defends budget plans

Doncaster Mayor responds to Unison charges that £109m budget cuts are ‘incredibly concerning and worrying'.

Doncaster MBC's budget proposals have been described as ‘incredibly concerning and worrying' by regional representatives of the Unison trade union.

Under three-year plans set out by Doncaster Mayor Ros Jones to save £109m, the authority intends to cut more than 1,200 jobs over three years, oversee the phased closure seven council-run care homes and scale back children's services.
