Doncaster MBC has been subject to a bizarre spate of thefts from council premises and buildings since 2015, a Freedom of Information request has revealed.
Some 16 schools were targeted by thieves between April 2013 and February 2015 with opportunist thieves making away with a miscellaneous haul that included a school door, artificial grass, bicycles, a heating system a musical instrument and mobile phones.
Items pinched from Doncaster office premises included roofing from the Mansion House, computer equipment and portable devices from the borough's civic offices.
