An exclusive survey conducted by The MJ has revealed authorities have seen few financial benefits from the 'Twitter revolution'.

Town halls' ‘Twitter revolution' has delivered wide-ranging improvements in service quality, but authorities have reported few financial benefits to date, an exclusive survey conducted by The MJ has revealed.

According to a poll of 67 local authorities conducted on behalf of accountancy firm BDO, more than three quarters of councils (76%) feel the use of social networks and micro-blogging sites such as Facebook and Twitter have improved service delivery.
