The leader of Dorset CC has insisted plans for a combined authority are still on track, despite four boroughs in his county announcing they want to create a breakaway unitary.

Bournemouth, Christchurch, East Dorset and Poole councils revealed they were exploring the idea of a South East Dorset unitary on 18 September just days after all nine council leaders in the county signed off plans for a combined authority.
