Driving towards the diversity goal

Women must make up half of all Local Enterprise Partnership boards by 2023. Christine Gaskell says 'we are getting there, but more work needs to be done at pace'.

I wonder how many people have heard of Jodie Taylor, Brina Micheels, or Liv Cooke? They are the latest in a long history of women leaders who have made, and are making, a major difference in their field – football, or more specifically, the FIFA Women's World Cup. Jodie, Brina, and Liv are among some of the most influential women inspiring future generations of players.

Their enthusiasm and passion is challenging the status quo, catapulting women's football into the mainstream, and grabbing the attention of the world's media more than ever before. Even the England team, known as The Lionesses, have their own three lionesses emoji.
